"Our experience with Donny Yoon in Fort Lee was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. We had a scheduled appointment to view Unit 1503 at 300 Win… Read Moreston Drive in Cliffside Park, NJ. Upon arrival, the building’s doorman explicitly permitted us to wait in the lobby, which we did respectfully while awaiting Danny’s arrival. However, Danny refused to show us the apartment simply because we had waited in the lobby instead of following his personal preference or “rule,” which had not been clearly communicated beforehand. This response was unreasonable and unnecessarily rigid. More concerning was his behavior toward our realtor, whom he treated with noticeable rudeness and disrespect. Professional courtesy and basic communication were completely lacking. Refusing a showing under these circumstances reflects poorly on his professionalism and raises serious concerns about how he conducts business. We would strongly caution others to consider this experience before working with him. Further to Danny's response: Sandy from your office showed us the same apartment on 4/7. and we met her in the waiting area at the front desk - the same place we were waiting for Danny. I do not know what Danny's issue is but here is NO building rule that visitors cannot wait in the lobby by the front desk. I have been to 300 many times and no broker/agent has ever made the request to wait outside and that they have to walk us in I am always told will meet in the lobby. Besides, once we park we always have to get the pass and place it on the dashboard of the car for visitor parking. Further to second response from Mr yoon: We appreciate your reply, but your response raises more concerns than it resolves. First, at no point prior to the appointment were we clearly instructed that waiting in the lobby was prohibited or that we were required to wait outside. The building staff explicitly allowed us to remain in the lobby, and this has consistently been the standard practice in our prior visits to 300 Winston Drive with other licensed agents. If there are specific HOA protocols that differ from what building staff communicates and what is commonly practiced, it is your responsibility as the listing agent to clearly and proactively communicate those requirements in advance. Second, refusing to proceed with a scheduled showing over this issue was an excessive and unprofessional reaction. A reasonable approach would have been to clarify expectations upon arrival and proceed with the appointment, rather than deny access altogether. Third, your characterization of our agent’s conduct is inaccurate. What you describe as “escalation” was simply an attempt to understand your position after you refused to proceed. Professional disagreements do not justify dismissive or disrespectful behavior. Finally, suggesting that we are “not who we claim to be” is both unfounded and inappropriate. We are prospective buyers who scheduled a legitimate showing in good faith. Making baseless assumptions about clients further reflects a lack of professionalism. We stand by our original review. This experience reflects poor communication, unnecessary rigidity, and unprofessional conduct. Future clients should be aware of the importance of clear expectations and respectful treatment in any real estate interaction. BTW the person from your office who showed me the apartment previously without any incident was Sarah. There were no such rules during that visit. HOA rules for the building state that business should not be conducted in the lobby. However, visitors are permitted to wait 30 minutes inside.
